Here's a top ten list of the best Flyers hits from the 2012-2013 NHL Season. Feel free to comment if you have a different idea of what it should be.
#10: 1/22/12 - Flyers forward Tom Sestito with a big hit on Bruins forward Nathan Horton. This hit would lead to a Horton concussion. Flyers would go on to lose 6-5 in a shootout.
#9: 4/11/12 - Flyers forward Brayden Schenn with a big hit on Penguins forward Craig Adams. Flyers would go on to win 4-3 in OT.
#8: 11/17/11 - Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds with a big hit on Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla. Flyers would go on to win 2-1.
#7: 5/8/12 - Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo with a big hit on Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov. Flyers would go on to lose 3-1 and be eliminated from the Playoffs.
#6: 10/15/11 - Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo with a big hit on Kings defenseman Drew Doughty. Flyers would go on to lose 3-2 in OT.
#5: 10/29/11 - Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo with a big hit on Hurricanes defenseman Jamie McBain. Flyers would go on to win 5-1.
#4: 1/22/12 - Flyers forward Brayden Schenn with a big hit on Bruins forward Steve Kampfer. Flyers would go on to lose 6-5 in a shootout.
#3: 4/11/12 - Two for one, Flyers forward Brayden Schenn sends Penguins defenseman Paul Martin into the boards and levels forward Matt Cooke. Flyers would go on to win 4-3 in OT.
#2: 4/15/12 - Flyers forward Brayden Schenn with a "freight train" hit on Penguins defenseman Paul Martin. Moments later Penguins forward Arron Asham decides to crosscheck Schenn in the throat because of the clean hit. Martin needs to stop skating near Schenn... Flyers would go on to win 8-4.
#1: 4/22/12 - Flyers forward Claude Giroux's possibly series ending hit on Penguins forward Sidney Crosby five seconds into Game Six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Giroux scored about twenty seconds later in what's one of the most memorable shifts in Flyers history. Flyers would go on to win 5-1 and win the series.
