According to Renaud Lavoie, the Flyers are in the race for unrestricted free agent and Avalanche forward Ryan O'Reilly and the Avs want Flyers forward Sean Couturier.
Lavoie says there is no further communication betweens Colorado and O'Reilly's agent. The Avs want him to sign a two year $3.5 million (per) deal, but he wants more money.
Lavoie: "This offer does not appeal to O'Reilly clan is recognized, despite his young age, as a great leader. Compared a lot to Mike Richards or Dustin Brown."
The Avalanche want a draft pick (1st or 2nd), a young prospect, and a young established player.
Lavoie says Couturier is untouchable in the Flyers' eyes.
O'Reilly had 18 goals and 37 assists in 81 games last season.
