For the first time this season, the Philadelphia Flyers have won three straight games.

Wayne Simmonds netted the game-winning goal 16:34 into the second period, while Sean Couturier had three points, propelling the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators Tuesday evening at the Canadian Tire Centre.

With the game locked 2-2 towards the end of the second period, Couturier started a rush from the Flyers’ defensive zone, sending a pass cross-ice to Simmonds.

Simmonds held onto the puck before launching a shot at Sens’ goaltender Craig Anderson from the high circle. Anderson denied the snot, but Wayne Simmonds followed up and put the rebound past Anderson to give the Flyers a 3-2 lead.

Shayne Gostsisbehere and Evgeni Medvedev also scored for the Flyers, who blew a one-goal lead on two separate occasions.

Steve Mason got the call in goal for the Flyers, stopping 23 of 25 shots, including a ridiculous toe save on Kyle Turris early in the first period that set the tone for the night.

Zack Smith and Mike Hoffman scored for the Senators, who lost back-to-back in regulation for the first time this season.

Gostisbehere opened the scoring with just over five minutes remaining in the first period, taking a pass from Claude Giroux at the point, walking in and ripping a snap shot past Anderson.

Smith tied the game for Ottawa late in the frame after Medvedev failed to clear the zone and got caught out of position.

The 33-year-old Russian blueliner would redeem himself early in the middle period, taking a pass from Sean Couturier at the point and wiring a shot through the legs of Anderson for his first NHL goal, giving the Flyers back the lead.

While Hoffman would knot the game 2-2 not even a minute later with a wicket wrist shot, Simmonds broke the tie with the eventual game winner in the final four minutes of the period.

Couturier added an empty netter for the Flyers, who outshot Ottawa 33-25 on the night and now own a 10-10-5 record on the year.
