Updated: July 1, 2015 at 6:47 pm by Sean Cobourn

Take this for what you will, but the Chicago Sun’s Blackhawks beat writer Mark Lazerus says the Flyers are interested in Patrick Sharp.

No word on if Matt Ellison’s name was thrown in trade talks.

Sharp is coming off a down year with the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks: 68 GP, 16 G, 27 A, 43 PTS

The 33 year old left wing hit at least the 33 goal and 69 point mark in the three full seasons prior.

Patrick Sharp has a $5.9 million cap hit through 2017 and Chicago has been trying to move him.

The Flyers currently have $4.46 million in cap space with an unsigned Michael Del Zotto.
