The Flyers announced Sunday that defenseman Andrew MacDonald sustained a lower-body injury during an offseason workout and will be sidelined approximately six weeks.
MacDonald is entering his sixth season with the Flyers after recording an average 19:51 of ice time with the club in 2017-18. The alternate captain posted six goals, 21 points, 30 PIM and a plus-8 rating in 66 games.
Training Camp is less than a week away, as the Flyers will kick off on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Virtua Center Flyers Skatezone.
With MacDonald sidelined, all eyes will be on 21-year-old rearguard Philippe Myers in training camp. The rising blueliner played a pivotal role for the Phantoms last season and is expected to battle for a spot on the Flyers roster in 2018-19.
