Carter Hart and the Everett Silvertips are off to Round 3.
The Silvertips cruised to a 4-0 victory in game five of round two of the WHL playoffs Friday, eliminating the Portland Winterhawks in a 4-1 series victory.
Flyers goaltending prospect Hart stopped all 30 shots he faced for technically his third shutout of the postseason. Hart left the ice midway through the second due to an undisclosed absence, but returned for the start of the third period, stopping 11 shots to secure the victory.
The 19-year-old netminder tried to make a joke about why he left the game, but ended up revealing the real reason:
Hart has continued his superb play from the regular season into the postseason, posting an 8-1-1 record with a .944 save percentage in 10 playoff games thus far.
