Philadelphia Flyers prospect Carter Hart is regarded as one of the best goaltending prospects in the world right now.
The 19-year-old is getting ready to lead Team Canada at the 2018 World Junior Championships and is putting together a ridiculous season with the Everett Silvertips of the WHL.
Hart was just named the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the fourth straight week and now he’s been named the CHL Goaltender of the week for the third straight week. This all comes after the youngster was named the WHL Goaltender of the Month for November.
The Silvertips are riding a nine-game winning streak thanks to the play of their elite netminder. Through the month of December, Hart is 5-0-0-0 with a 0.60 goals-against-average and .983 save percentage with a pair of shutouts.
The Alberta native currently leads the WHL in goals against average (1.32) and SV% (.961). He’s sixth in the league with 13 wins and leads the league with five shutouts this season.
Selected by the Flyers in the second round, 48th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft, Hart is doing something special right now. He is just two shutouts away from tying the league record and has garnered praise from all over the hockey world.
Hart is making tons of noise right now, but the World Juniors will really be the big stage. It’s one of the most-watched hockey events of the year and Hart will be front-and-center for Team Canada. If you haven’t had a chance to watch him, this is your chance. Hart is putting together a superb season in the WHL, but will be looking to exact some revenge after a disappointing conclusion to the 2017 World Juniors.
Flyers fans in the United States can watch their top goaltending prospect in action on the NHL Network beginning Boxing Day.
