Carter Hart named WHL Western Conference player and goalie of the year

Flyers prospect Carter Hart put together a sensational season with the Everett Silvertips of the WHL — and he’s being recognized for it.

The WHL announced today Eastern and Western Conference individual award winners for the 2017-18 WHL season. The awards are voted upon by all WHL General Managers and Head Coaches.

Hart won the Del Wilson Memorial Trophy as the WHL Western Conference Top Goaltender for the third consecutive season and was also named Western Conference Player of the Year.

Hart broke the Silvertips franchise record for all-time wins, tied the WHL all-time shutout record (26) and backstopped Team Canada to Gold at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships.

The 19-year-old netminder finished the season with a 31-6-1-3 record, a league-leading .947 save percentage and 1.60 goals against average and seven shutouts.
