After a horrible 6-2 loss vs the Ducks to end out the homestand the Flyers travelled to Ottawa to face the Senators on thursday night. Flyers entered the game 5-4-0. Nolan Patrick did not play and is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Jori Lehterä took his place as the third line center and Taylor Leier was back in the lineup replacing a struggling Dale Weise. Michal Neuvirth got the start in net and he made 23 saves on 28 shots.

Dion Phaneuf scored the first goal of the game just over a minute into the first period on a floater from the blueline that somehow found its way past Neuvirth.

Things didnt get better when Borowiecki made it 2-0 on a pass that Sanheim unfortunately redirected into his own net.

Pageau scored a shorthanded goal with a wicked shot to make it 3-0 with just under 7 minutes left of the first.

Jakub Voracek scored hist first goal of the season on a bankpass from behind the net. Assisted by Sean Couturier and Ivan Provorov.

Travis Konecny made no mistake on his breakaway. Gudas picked up the only assist.

Just a few minutes later Mark Stone scored on a wicked backhander to make it 4-2 Senators

After Tom Pyatt made it 5-2 for Senators the Flyers started their attempt to make a comeback. Ivan Provorov scored his 2nd goal of the season off a beautiful pass from Travis Konecny. Couturier picked up the secondary assist.

Sean Couturier deflected a Gostisbehere shot with just under 2 minutes left of the third. Voracek got the secondary assist.

Flyers ended up losing the game 5-4 but they also had two disallowed goals, and you could make a case that both of them should have been allowed but tonight just wasnt Flyers night.
