After losing four straight games, the Flyers finally got back into the win column when they beat the Hurricanes in overtime on Tuesday night.

Tonight they returned back home to face the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens have been quite the disappointment so far this year, but they’ve won two in a row and are looking to continue to turn around their season.

First period

Neither team really created alot of high quality chances in the first. Both teams had a powerplay. Both Price and Elliott were good whenever they had to be to keep the game tied after 20 minutes.

Second period

It didnt take Flyers long to score the first goal of the game after a beautiful tic tac toe goal by Konecny. Konecny has really grown as a player this year, especially after being put on a line with Couturier and Giroux.

Flyers continued to dominate the period, making the Canadians take penalty after penalty but Canadiens would tie the game up shorthanded after a Voracek turnover on a great shot by Lehkonen.

Just seconds later Giroux would give the Flyers the lead again when he beat Price on a wrister.

Flyers created more great chances including an open net chance where Couturier missed the puck but the Flyers couldnt capitalize. Instead the Canadiens would tie the game again after the Flyers kept turning the puck over in their own zone.

The game was tied 2-2 heading into the third period.

Third period

Voracek who turned the puck over on the shorthanded goal would redeem himself when he scored on the powerplay on a ridiculous wristshot that went of Price mask and in.

Just a minute later Konecny found the puck behind Carey Price and could easily tap the puck into the net to give the good guys a 4-2 lead. Two goals in just 61 seconds.

Canadiens made it a one goal game with just under three minutes left when they scored on a powerplay.

Provorov sealed it when he scored an empty net goal. Flyers win!
