After signing forward Carsen Twarynski to an entry-level deal over the weekend, the Flyers have signed another CHL standout Maksim Sushko to a contract as well.

Shushko was drafted 107th overall in 2017 and will begin his new deal at the start of the 2018-19 season.

The 19-year-old Belarusian spent the 2017-18 junior season in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack where he tallied 30 goals and 25 assists over 57 games. He is tied for the CHL lead in shorthanded goals with six and leads Owen Sound with five game-winners.

Sushko plays the right wing and is a fantastic goal-scorer who has a quick and deceptive release to his wrist shot. He also sees significant penalty kill minutes and uses his skating ability to excel as a two-way player. It’s unlikely he’ll be in the NHL right away, but he certainly has the skill set to make an impact with the top club in the future.
