We here at HockeyFights are over the moon excited at the news that some of our largest supporters in “Flyers Nation” have been given a go-to spot to come to in Flyersnation.net. We couldn’t be prouder to call Flyersnation a friend of HockeyFights.
The year is young and your Flyers have only found themselves on the fight card one time, when Wayne Simmonds made quick work of Micheal Haley. We know it’s only a matter of time until the Flyers are bruising and beating down the league. But while we have a chance, let us look back at some Flyers fights I have fond memories of.
Everyone loves watching a good old Flyer beat down of a Penguin. Brandon Manning did not disappoint in this card. Cameron Gaunce will regret ever taking this one. The sheer amount of lefts Gaunce ate had him on a dietary restriction for a few weeks.
Coburn and Downie had danced around the issue earlier in the game. Downie got a couple of early touches and then begged for the linesman to help him out. Coburn out reached him and out classed him on this night.
No decared winners here, except the us. Hextall tossing his stick at the first whiff of a bout and skating full flight down the ice to take on Potvin will be etched in our hearts and minds forever. Hextall is legend.
Coyotes and Golden Knights (1986):
Just an absolute “dandy” (In the words of the announcers). The linesman couldn’t stop this one. Only Tocchet would decide when it was over and let McPhee go. Just two tough guys chucking knuckles at each other.
