Flyers re-sign Chris VandeVelde

Ron Hextall continues his busy day.

After trading Zac Rinaldo to Boston, Hexy has extended Chris VandeVelde.

VandeVelde (28) really came on strong towards the end of the season, finishing with 15 points (9 G, 6 A) in 72 games playing a fourth line role.

Before Game 82, Chris VandeVelde was awarded the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy for most improved Flyer.

VV had 117 points (52 G, 65 A) in 166 games with Dave Hakstol at North Dakota from 2006-2010.

If Hextall re-signs Ryan White, VandeVelde-Bellemare-White would make an ideal fourth line in Philly this fall.
