The Flyers went back to back goalies in the third round, picking Matej Tomek 90th overall.

Ron Hextall was the first to interview the North Dakota commit in early June:

Tomek made the jump from Slovakia to the United States this year and proceeded to dominate the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

In 33 appearances with the Topeka Roadrunners, he had a .928 SV% and a 1.83 GAA.

Matej Tomek is ranked the 5th best North American goalie by NHL Central Scouting and #82 in the draft by Future Considerations.

Tomek was named to the NAHL All South Division Team, the All NAHL Team, and received the NAHL Goaltender of the Year Award.

Coming in at 6’3″ 181 pounds, Tomek is about the same size as Felix Sandstrom who was selected with the 70th pick (6’2″ 192 pounds).

Matej Tomek was recruited by Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol to UND.
