The Flyers have bolstered their goaltending depth with the acquisition of Michael Neuvirth.
Neuvirth (27) had a .918 SV% and a 2.99 GAA in 27 games with an awful Sabres team last season before getting traded to the Islanders (5 GP, .881 SV%, 2.94 GAA).
The 6’1″ 209 pound goaltender has played the most with the Capitals during his seven year career including 48 games in 2010-2011 (.914 SV%, 2.45 GAA).
Michal Neuvirth should be an upgrade over Ray Emery as the backup for next season. The Flyers needed a better insurance policy with two different knee injuries to Steve Mason in 2014-2015.
Flyers have signed goalie Michal Neuvirth to two-year deal, $1.5 M in Year 1 and $1.75 million in Year 2

I’m fine with the $1.625 million cap hit and term, career .912 SV% and only 27. Philly won’t have to worry about signing a backup goalie next July 1st.
Neuvirth led the local Hershey Bears (AHL) to back to back Calder Cups in 2009 and 2010, winning the playoff MVP the first time.
