Flyers trade Zac Rinaldo to Boston

Ron Hextall continues to make moves.

The Flyers have traded Zac Rinaldo to the Bruins for a 3rd round pick in 2017.

That’s insane value for a fourth line grinder who has never scored more than three goals or six points in four NHL seasons.

Not that it’s that much, but the deal saves the Flyers $850K in cap space for the next two years.

After the stellar drafting, trading Nicklas Grossmann and Chris Pronger on Saturday, and moving Rinaldo today, Ron Hextall has had one of the best offseasons by an NHL GM so far.

Let’s hope he can keep it going and get a team to take one or more of Lecavalier, MacDonald, and Umberger off their hands.

Depending on what happens with the conditions in the Arizona trade, the Flyers might have three third round picks in 2017.
