The Philadelphia Flyers only sent two players to the 2018 IIHF World Championships in Denmark. Both of them have been playing significant roles for their respective clubs.
Blueliner Radko Gudas has been a physical force and is a plus-6 through seven games with the Czech Republic, while forward Michael Raffl has netted four goals in five games with Team Austria.
Raffl was electric in a 4-3 loss to the Czech Republic on Monday, scoring two gorgeous goals to take over the team goal-scoring lead:
While Raffl showed off some tremendous edge work and speed to score his first of the game, his second goal was even prettier. Raffl absolutely undresses opposing blueliner Jakub Krejcik before sniping his second goal:
Raffl scored 13 goals during the regular season for the Flyers, but was kept quiet in the postseason against the Pittsburgh Penguins. A strong showing at the 2018 IIHF World Championships should bode well in helping him return to the 20-goal-scorer he was in Philadelphia three years ago.
