The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are set to begin their Eastern Conference Final series against the Toronto Marlies this afternoon.

Flyers’ highly touted offensive prospect Morgan Frost has joined the roster on an Amateur Tryout Contract. He’ll be wearing number 23 (formerly worn by Taylor Leier and Ben Holmstrom) and is considered a depth option during the playoff run.

The 19-year-old is coming off a sensational season in the OHL with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds where he finished second in league scoring with 112 total points.

Frost, who was the 27th overall selection by the Flyers in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, was recently named to the 2017-18 OHL 1st Team All-Stars.

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer originally reported that Frost will join the team for Game 1, but is unexpected to get into the lineup.

Frost missed out on an opportunity to go to the Memorial Cup, but the youngster should get some quality experience being around the Phantoms during their Calder Cup run.

The best-of-seven series begins today and Sunday with Games 1 and 2 at Ricoh Coliseum before the series shifts to PPL Center in downtown Allentown for Games 3, 4 and 5 (if needed) next week.

The full schedule can be seen below:

Frost only turned 19 two days ago and is likely headed back to the CHL in 2018-19.

He’s quickly becoming known as one of the most enticing offensive prospect in the game, however, and it’ll be very interesting to see if he gets any playing time with the Phantoms.
