Erik Gustafsson (26) has told the Swedish website Expressen that he is not returning to the KHL, or signing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
Gustafsson wishes to return to the NHL and said teams have inquired about his services.
Avangard Omsk president Vladimir Shalaev said Gustafsson will leave the team, but stay in Europe two days ago.
The Flyers own the rights to Erik Gustafsson, and will have to trade them to another team for him to play in North America next season. Ron Hextall said four days ago that Gustafsson expressed interest in returning, but there’s no room in Philadelphia.
If Gus can’t play in the NHL next year, he said there’s also interest in Switzerland.
