Preview: Flyers at Islanders (Preseason Game 1)

The Philadelphia Flyers are back.

The Flyers kick off the 2018 NHL Preseason with a stretch of four games in four days, including three trips to New York. They will play a total of eight exhibition games before beginning the regular season with a matchup against the Golden Knights in Vegas on October 4th.

Things get started Sunday when the Flyers pay a visit to Long Island to face the Islanders.

The Islanders lost their franchise superstar center John Tavares in the offseason and are beginning a new era.

Roster

The Flyers are sending a group of 20 players to take on the Islanders, while the remaining 35 will stay back in Voorhees, New Jersey, for a scrimmage in the morning.

The Flyers’ roster for Sunday’s game is highlighted by top young players Travis Konecny and Nolan Patrick, while Anthony Stolarz is expected to get the call in goal.
