THREE STORYLINES TO WATCH

The Metropolitan division boasts the tightest race for playoff spots in all of the NHL currently. Five teams are separated by only four points from third place all the way to seventh place. Columbus is chomping on the Flyers heels, as they are only four points behind them. Tonight’s game could go a long way in the standings down the stretch for either team.

With the shootout loss earlier in the season at Nationwide Arena, that marks 11 straight games that Philadelphia has lost in Columbus. The last time the Flyers went into Ohio and got a win; the goal scorers were Jeff Carter, Sami Kapanen, and Peter Forsberg.

Former Flyer Sergei Bobrovsky will man the pipes for Columbus this evening, against his former team “Bob” holds a strong 9-2 record while only allowing a 1.79 GAA and boasts a .939 SV%. Michal Neuvirth will get the nod for the Flyers, he has a career record of 2-1 when facing the Blue Jackets with a 1.99 GAA and a .934 SV%.
