Preview: Flyers @ Bruins (Preseason Game 8)

Updated: September 28, 2018 at 11:17 pm by Nick Borden

We’re almost at the start of the regular season Flyers fans, but before we get there the Flyers have to  make one last preseason stop at TD Garden in Boston. Thursday’s game didn’t go as planned as the Flyers got down early before ultimately losing 4-2 to NYR.

With one matchup left in the preseason, there are still a few personnel decisions the Flyers need to sort out before opening night. Saturday night in Boston could be huge for a few names on the Flyers roster.

THREE STORYLINES TO WATCH

This could be the last time we see Carter Hart in the NHL for quite some time, so soak it in. However, Hakstol has not yet indicated which two healthy goaltenders will start the season in the NHL, so you’d have to imagine that both Hart and Stolarz will get the opportunity this game to show that they belong in the NHL alongside Brian Elliott.
With the regular season looming, the Flyers still have a fair few personnel decisions to make before opening night. The 3C role appears to be locked up by Mikhail Vorobyev who’s been nothing short of spectacular this preseason, but it remains to be seen how the final D pairing and 4th offensive line will pan out this season. This will be one last shot for those bubble guys to prove they deserve to be on the ice game one.
