Ron Hextall interviewed draft eligible UND goalie Matej Tomek

Ron Hextall has been the only NHL GM to have an interview with 2015 NHL Draft prospect Matej Tomek, who’s committed to North Dakota. Hmmmmmm.

Tomek made the jump from Slovakia to the United States this year and proceeded to dominate the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

In 33 appearances with the Topeka Roadrunners, he had a .928 SV% and a 1.83 GAA.

Matej Tomek is ranked the 5th best North American goalie by NHL Central Scouting and #82 in the draft by Future Considerations.

The Flyers only have one goalie prospect with potential, Anthony Stolarz, and he underachieved in his first season with the Phantoms (31 GP, .905 SV%, 3.28 GAA). It would be a smart idea to stock up on goaltenders in the system.

Tomek was named to the NAHL All South Division Team, the All NAHL Team, and received the NAHL Goaltender of the Year Award.
