More bad news for the Flyers on the injury front Monday morning.
The Flyers announced Tuesday morning that forward Wayne Simmonds will be out of the lineup for 2-3 weeks while he recovers from an upper body injury. Simmonds has been banged up all season and could use some time off. The injury means that recent call up Oskar Lindblom has 2 weeks to earn himself a spot on the Flyers playoff roster.
The team also announced that Michal Neuvirth will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering the teams move for Petr Mrazek late Monday night. With Brian Elliott already out, It means that Mrazek will see significant action over the next few weeks and will have a chance to earn a starting role heading into the playoffs. Mrazek made it to morning skate this morning, but no word on whether or not he will play Tuesday night vs. Montreal.
