Travis Sanheim sidelined with upper-body injury

The Flyers will be without defensemen Travis Sanheim for approximately one week after the young blueliner suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday’s preseason loss to the Islanders.

Sanheim suffered the injury during the second period of Sunday’s game after he was boarded by Islanders’ forward Matt Martin:

Sanheim went straight to the locker room after the hit and didn’t return to the game.

It’s good news the injury isn’t serious, as the promising 22-year-old blueliner was favoring his shoulder afterwards and appeared in serious pain.

Sanheim is expected to play a key role on the Flyers’ blueline in 2018-19 after impressing in a 49-game rookie campaign last season.
